The Bamboo braceletsI have a friend who sells Silpada jewelry.  She lives in Florida but you can still order from her by visiting her website.  I know there are so many of those home sales party but this jewelry is awesome!  I have been to two parties and gotten several pieces that I LOVE.  The earrings I am wearing on the website are from their last catalog.  Also, the hostess benefits for these parties are really great.

My Photographer

I have received a lot of compliments on the professionalism of the photographs on the website.   They were taken by professional photographer, Jen Wunderlich, and she happens to be one of my very best friends.

My family is headed to the beach for vacation next week, and it is the first time by youngest, who will be 2 years old in November will see the beach.  Last time we were there I was pregnant with him.  We had some great pictures taken but of course he wasn’t really included in them.  I am hoping we can find someone to take some that are equally as good of the four of us.  I wish I could afford to bring my friend, Jen, with me because I know she would get exactly what I need.

She is also a stay at home mom with two kids, so her calendar is quite full.  If you live in the Altanta area, and are lucky enough to book her, I promise you that you will not be disappointed.  She is wonderful and patient with children and is very reasonable.

I will share by beach pictures upon on return, let’s hope they turn out good!

Tribute to Chickatees!

Inspirational

This picture is from a very dear friend of mine’s father.  He is battling Merkle Cell Carcinoma – a rare skin cancer that spreads quickly to other parts of the body.  He is young and very positive about this disease and what it means for him, despite serious, painful and ongoing treatments to eliminate it from his body.

I have MS and I know how difficult it is to have a disease that has no cure that people don’t understand and requires ongoing and inconvienient treatment.  The difference is that my disease no matter what, is not fatal.  Ed has too much life left to live.  He is traveling tomorrow to Texas from Georgia with the hope that he qualifies for experimental treatment as he wants to conquer his disease and move forward with his life.

My friend asked me for a hat for her dad and some shirts for other family members.  They are all wearing them, but Ed is particularly proud of his Courage and Conviction hat.  It helps protect his head from the sun and he feels cool wearing a hip, styilsh hat to his cancer treatments - especially because he is such a positive person and loves the message behind Chickatees.

This is a photo my friend sent to me of Ed and I had to share it with you readers because this is what my business is all about.  I want to share Ed’s story and hope that you will also find inspiration and keep him in your prayers.

Be Patient

I don’t even know how to respond to the only other blog I have received  besides my sister’s…..UGH!  I guess I really might be getting old.  I will learn how to do all of this, though, I promise.  Maybe no one even really cares…..I met with my t-shirt vendors today on a few issues I was having and the meeting went so well – mostly because I had FUN talking to these people.  The CEO of the company and I had so little but so much in common.  He grew up in Orlando down the street from where I did (although he is MUCH MUCH older 40…kidding) went to UF, and we all know that I went to FSU but married a Gator, he married a Bulldog, who went to elementary school and high school with one of my sorority sisters from college, and top it off with the fact that he currently lives around the corner from me.  He said “big city, small town” and it is a little cliche, but I have always been amazed at how anywhere I go I can find a connection.  Especially in Atlanta.  I miss Florida, my friends, family and numerous other things (hello, the beach??) but I LOVE this city.  I really do.  Anyway, I guess this is more of a blog than probably people want, but it just goes to show you that I am happy, and can always find happiness.  I hope everyone reading can too.  If you can’t, maybe you need a shirt

Thanks

I am so tired I want to cry, but it doesn’t make sense because truthfully I am so happy and excited.  I suppose you can be tired because of all of the excitement.   I have received two orders since the site went live.  Though I am of course hoping for a little more action  I am grateful for those two orders.  I am also so pleased with all of the positive feedback I am getting about the site, the product, and the message behind it all.  Thank you to all of my family and friends who have shared the site and shared your kind words.
